6 Great Valentine’s Day Activities to do in Malibu!

Tuesday, February 14th is quickly approaching and we all know what that means, Valentine’s Day! Whether you’re trying to impress someone new, in a brand new relationship or have been with that someone for countless years, you always want to make Cupid’s day a special one.

As long time Malibu residents, we think that Malibu is one of the best places to spend Valentine’s day.  There is plenty of natural beauty surrounding us, great local restaurants to go to, and plenty of unuqie activities to do.  We’ve come up with a list of some fun and romantic ideas for anyone who is looking to spend a great day in beautiful Malibu.  By no means is this a complete list of activities, just some of our favorites.  Enjoy!

1. Enjoy a Romantic Malibu SunsetIMG_1003 (2)

COST: Free!

Malibu simply experiences some of the most breathtaking sunsets you can imagine.  There are so many great spots to watch the sun go down to make this activity the perfect low key Valentine’s Day date.  We suggest checking out some of the west facing public beaches here like Zuma for optimal viewing pleasure.

The sun is planned to set at 5:39PM on February 14th so plan accordingly.  If you are feeling really ambitious check out the sunrise as well! Sunrise is at 6:41AM that morning.

2. Day Hike at one of Malibu’s Many Beautiful Hikes

COST:  $0 – $10 (parking)

One of the best ways to spend some meaningful, quality time with someone is to go hiking.  Hiking allows time for a great conversation while enjoying the beautiful scenery around you.   Not to mention the added bonus of exercise and its FREE!

There are a couple of hikes that we recommend specifically for Valentine’s Day:

Charmlee Wilderness Park  – This hike, located up Encinal Canyon on the west end of Malibu, provides some of the best views of the coast as well as different trail options throughout the hiking grounds.   You can spend anywhere from 1 to 3 hours exploring the park!

Cameron Nature Preserve – We recommend the Cameron Nature Preserve not only for the breathtaking views but because it is likely to be less crowded that some of the other popular hikes on Valentine’s Day.
