17^th Malibu International Film Festival returns to Malibu Saturday November 5^th with screenings and awards at Malibu Civic Theater followed by an after party hosted and sponsored by Casa Escobar Malibu. Malibu Film Festival is best known for screening new, innovative and compelling films in competition, curated by Malibu Film Foundation and juried in part by the audience. Complementary advanced screening and awards tickets are available now at the festival website MalibuFilmFestival.com

Malibu Filmmaker, Chelo Alvarez-Stehle’s feature documentary “Sands of Silence” opens the Festival. Closing the festival is a collection of short films from the next generation of Malibu filmmakers and artist including “Endings, Inc.” (starring Hopper Penn), “The Ravine” (VFX by Jefferson Wagner), Prettyface” (starring Karsen Liotta and Patrick Schwarzenegger), “Forgiveness” (directed by Satie Gossett), “The Bench” (directed by Cameron Burnett) and Two Bellmen Two (starring Freida Pinto).

Film screenings with filmmaker Q&A begin at 11AM through 9:00 PM. The audience votes on their favorite film. The Awards Presentation is estimated to start at 9:00 PM with awards presented to this years award winners. The festival wraps up with a cocktail after party at Casa Escobar Malibu.
