Join the Allied Artists of the Santa Monica Mountains and Seashore (AASMMS) in supporting state, local and national parks and beaches of the Santa Monica National Recreation Area on Sunday May 20, 2018 11AM to 5PM at the Calamigos Beach Club Restaurant, 26025 Pacific Coast Highway, Malibu, CA 90265.

You are invited to attend this exciting new art exhibit and sale, enjoy a sip of wine and visit with our talented artists whose work features original paintings of our beautiful local mountains and seashore. The Calamigos Beach Club Restaurant is a breathtaking five-acre ranch along the Malibu coast with a beautiful restaurant and views of the Pacific from every window.  There will be wine and hors d’oeuvres, compliments of Calamigos Beach Club, with lunch and cocktails for purchase throughout the day. Complimentary Valet Parking.

The Allied Artists of the Santa Monica Mountains was founded over 20 years ago to paint and preserve the unique natural beauty of the Santa Monica Mountains National Recreation Area (SMMNRA). The 156,000-acre recreation area stretches from Runyon and Franklin Canyons in Hollywood to Point Mugu State Park in Ventura County and contains over 500 miles of trails including the 67-mile long backbone trail that follows the crest of the coastal mountains from Will Rogers State Historic Park to Point Mugu State Park.

The AASMS provides information, environmental education and conservation through art and public service. The members of Allied Artists organize exhibitions of their paintings in order to raise money and increase public awareness of the endangered land that they depict in their paintings.  They collaborate with local, state and national agencies to present several art shows a year in local and natural settings in and around the recreation area.

The Allied Artists group also sponsors free monthly paint-outs on the second Saturday of the month at various locations throughout the recreation area. The free paint outs provide a unique opportunity for anypainter to enjoy a sense of camaraderie and are a great way to see the beauty of the natural environment. A painting demonstration and friendly critique are usually held at the paint-outs.
