Blood Donations Needed to Respond to Everyday Patient Emergencies

(Malibu, CA)  – The City of Malibu is partnering with American Red Cross to host the annual Malibu Blood Drive on Thursday, June 9, 9:00 AM – 3:00 PM. The event takes place in the Multi-Purpose room at Malibu City Hall (23825 Stuart Ranch Road, Malibu CA 90265).

Like a hospital emergency room, the American Red Cross must be prepared to respond to patient emergencies across the country with blood products 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Blood for trauma victims, premature babies, and chronic disease patients is a life-and-death issue. Every two seconds, someone in the United States needs blood. There are currently not enough donors scheduling appointments to avoid the possibility of a local blood shortage.
