Long time Malibu local and sole owner of Glamifornia Style Lounge, Terah Tidy, is redefining the typical beauty salon experience. Her vision is refreshingly unique and brings an artistic energy to her retail space. What it mainly encapsulates is a combination of art, fashion, beauty, and wellness. Emphasis on those key elements is what separates this beauty experience from the rest of the competition.
Glamifornia Style Lounge is not your ordinary beauty salon. Think of it as more of an art gallery and beauty salon fused together. When Terah set out to create this style lounge, she saw something wrong with the typical salon experience. She thought the process of getting your hair done was becoming too mechanical and was missing the artistic culture that that goes hand in hand with beauty. So when she opened the style lounge back in December of 2015, she made sure that artistic celebration was a key part of her business.
Specifically, Terah celebrates the collaboration of artists to produce something unique to her vision. This becomes evident when you step foot into the Style Lounge and see the art displayed on the walls. The current artwork is beautiful photography that clearly was a calculated effort on the part of the photographer, set designer, make up artist, fashion designer, and many more artists to create pieces that reflect the bohemian chic vibe of the Style Lounge. Terah says collaborations like this are the true spirit of the Glamifornia Style Lounge. And just like other art galleries, the style lounge rotates the artwork periodically. Most recently the Lounge featured artwork from an erotic painter who’s risqué pieces perfectly complemented the boho chic vibe.
Along with artwork, Terah puts as heavy emphasis on the lounge aspect of the Glamifornia Style Lounge. Terah has cultivated an environment where women can come and socialize. The Lounge is always on top of the latest trends in fashion, beauty, and all things related and the conversations inside the lounge are always buzzing. The Lounge also features a wellness bar so you can enjoy a healthy beverage while you are receiving style treatments or just chatting it up with the Glamifornia team. The slogan of the Lounge stands true, “Come for the style, stay for the lounge.”
Of course, the Style Lounge offers all the services of a normal beauty salon and much more. What the Style Lounge does differently in terms of their beauty treatments is that they cater to you and your defined style in hair, makeup, fashion, art, and wellness. Your personal style can be created by one of their master hair artists or you can have adventures in beauty with cuts, color, and style by interns and glam school grads. The choice is yours. The Lounge is also very aware that many people just do not have that much time for beauty treatments. They welcome anyone who only can stop in for 20, 30, or 45 minutes for a quick treatment. Just call for an appointment or walk in and give them a visit.
