The Malibu Lagoon is where Malibu Creek meets the Pacific Ocean. Malibu’s Surfrider Beach has a long stranded as a premier surfing beach. So much so that no boogie boarding or body surfing is allowed on the beach. This a surfers’ beach to the core. The beach is also a perfect spot to just enjoy the sun, watch some surf and relax. The great sand and surrounding restaurants make it all that much more enjoyable for a laid back day at the beach.

On the south side of the beach you will find the Malibu Pier that is home to salt water fishing as well as one of Malibu’s most popular restaurants, Malibu Farm. At the restaurants on the pier you will find picnic tables, benches and great views of the surf and sunset.

Also at Malibu Lagoon State Park you can find the Adamson House that has views to the pier as well as Surfrider beach. The Adamson house is a California Historical Landmark that is listed on the National Register of Historic places. This was designed in 1929 by Stiles O. Clements. This house showcases beautiful Spanish Colonial architecture and was built for Merritt Huntley Adamson and Rhonda Adamson.

Guided tours of the wetlands and other natural elements such as grunion, the monarch butterfly, tidepools, and the gray whale are scheduled seasonally. The Malibu Lagoon beach features wetlands, flower gardens and a sandy beach.
